Concours 14

2010 Kawasaki Concours 14
Performance touring comes naturally to Kawasaki, seeing as how we already had the performance part of the equation nailed with the incredible Ninja® ZX™-14 sportbike. That bike’s amazing 1,352cc engine and unique monocoque frame lent themselves perfectly to this exciting new class of transcontinental sport touring motorcycles, and the original Kawasaki Concours 14 and Concours 14 ABS rose immediately to the top of the critics’ lists just two short years ago. But the people who ride these motorcycles are not known for their patience. Two years on, the next-generation Concours 14 benefits from an entire laundry list of comfort, convenience and safety items carefully engineered to surpass all expectations of what a perfect sport tourer should be.

Concours 14 ABS

2010 Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS
New 2nd Generation K-ACT (Kawasaki Advanced Coactive-braking Technology) AB links front and rear brakes for most effective front-rear brake force distribution. A smaller, lighter K-ACT ABS unit with a higher-spec ECU is capable of more detailed calculations for smoother operation. The rider can choose one of two modes to suit riding situation or rider preference: The linked effect from front brake lever actuation is largely the same in both modes, but the linked effect when actuating the rear brake pedal is quite different. In Standard Mode, rider control is prioritized, with linked effect reduced at initial pedal stroke for natural sensation when sport riding.

Z1000

2010 Kawasaki Z1000
With this latest in a long line of naked Kawasaki street bikes, we threw out the old rules and started with a clean sheet, drawing upon more than 35 years of experience in giving the people what they want. If the new Z1000 knocks your eyeballs out, that’s exactly what we had in mind. Even more important, though, is the feeling this one provides every time you twist the throttle. The ball new liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve 1,043cc inline-four offers greater torque and a stronger top-end rush than previous Z1000 models.

ER-6N

2010 Kawasaki ER-6N
Some riders like a fully faired sportbike, some don’t. But nearly all riders agree Kawasaki’s Ninja 650R is a great, fun-to-ride middleweight motorcycle. The ER-6n simply leaves a little more of that torquey, rev-happy 650 twin’s innovative inner beauty out where you can see it, revealing this soulful machine’s mechanical purity of purpose. The ER-6n gets a vestigial fly screen around its headlight / instrument pod, but for the most part the fairing of this “naked” style bike has gone bye-bye. This one’s for riders who love the feel of being in the wind — a particularly good thing if you mostly ride where the weather’s hot. Otherwise, the ER-6n packs all the hardware and handling that’s made it and its Ninja 650R brother such media darlings. And did we mention deleting the fairing also brings the price down substantially?

Ninja 650 R

2010 Kawasaki Ninja 650R
The key to the Ninja 650R's compact size is its amazingly compact Parallel Twin engine, which permits the use of a narrow, lightweight frame. While the frame is completely new, its design continues to be a key component of the Ninja 650R's identity. Like on its predecessor, the Ninja 650R's bodywork accentuates the frame, rather than hiding it. The result is a bike with the dimensions of a 400 and the power of a 650 that welcomes beginners with a "Come on, let's go for a ride!" attitude, while also offering plenty of performance for more experienced riders. Changes to the frame, swingarm and suspension result in reduced vibration and lighter handling, making the new Ninja 650R more accessible than ever.

The Ninja 250R features styling that would not be out of place on our larger-displacement Ninja supersport models. The striking full-fairing bodywork has a superb fit and finish that looks as good up close as it does from a distance. The 249 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine was designed for rider-friendly response, the Ninja 250R's engine was tuned to deliver smooth, step-free power. Riders who use the full range of the engine will be pleasantly surprised by the ample high-rpm performance. To enable riders to enjoy this model for a number of years, many of the engine features contribute to durability and reliability.
